On April 25, 2019, past ISTO chairman and director Gerald T. Lane (Gerry), was honored at a luncheon by the ISTO support staff. Marco W. Migliaro, ISTO president and CEO, presented Gerry a plaque to commemorate his many contributions to the organization. Having served on the Board of Directors since 2000, Gerry was an integral part of the ISTO’s formative years serving as Chairman from 2003 to 2010.
“Having been with ISTO for most of its history, I've enjoyed the opportunity to move the organization from a fledgling start-up to a solid industry partner where ISTO helps cooperating entities successfully engage their markets,” Gerry said. “This was accomplished through the establishment of a firm business foundation while meeting the needs of a growing number of industry players.”
During Gerry’s tenure as chairman, ISTO grew from formation into a full-fledged operation supporting fifty+ industry groups over the course of the last twenty years.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors and support staff, I thank Gerry for his many years of service to the ISTO Federation," said Marco W. Migliaro, ISTO President and CEO. “Serving as a director almost 20 years, including 7 years as the Board Chair, Gerry was a driving force and “hands-on” chair on the ISTO Board of Directors. His experience in industry and knowledge of trends in standards development played a significant role in ISTO’s growth. I will miss Gerry and wish he and his wife, Camille, all the best.”
Gerry added, “I already miss the people that worked towards the common goal of making ISTO a viable organization. Working alongside the ISTO Board, the staff, and the program participants were most rewarding.”
Along with his wife, Camille, Gerry is currently planning renovations to their future home on Cape Cod while overseeing minor a remodeling of their current Westchester County home in preparation for selling. Gerry added, “We are expecting to be grandparents this summer, so between this exciting news, care of our blind dog, and some travel, I'm enjoying retirement.”
