Standards play a pivotal role in shaping industries and driving progress in a world driven by technology, innovation, and precision. It’s with this understanding that we are excited to introduce the upcoming CHIPS Research and Development (R&D) Standards Summit—a dynamic event that promises to be a cornerstone in the evolution of the standards in the semiconductor and microelectronics sector.
ISTO is co-hosting the CHIPS R&D Standards Summit will bring together thought leaders from industry and academia across the globe to help shape the future and drive innovation of semiconductor and microelectronics standards. During plenary and breakout sessions, attendees will work to identify strategic standards priorities in driving innovation and increasing value and efficiency while speeding the lab to market across the semiconductor and microelectronics sector. Attendees will discuss opportunities for innovation and agility in standards development, including incubators and accelerators, that enable the development of standards at the pace of innovation, broaden opportunities for participation, and provide educational and training opportunities. Participants will also discuss how we can build a diverse, standards-capable workforce to meet the needs of a vibrant semiconductor and microelectronics sector. The summit aims to engage the semiconductor and microelectronics community in the launch of the CHIPS R&D Standards Program and build an energized network of stakeholders prepared to lead strategic standards initiatives.
The CHIPS R&D Standards Summit is co-hosted by key organizations within the semiconductor and microelectronics space, including the CHIPS Research and Development Office (CHIPS R&D Office), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the IEEE Industry Standards and Technology Organization (IEEE-ISTO), the International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative (iNEMI), IPC International, the Joint Development Foundation (JDF), the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development Program (NITRD), the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO), SEMI North America, and the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). Their combined efforts in planning this pivotal event will bring together key stakeholders and experts to exchange ideas on focusing and accelerating strategic efforts across the full spectrum of standards development pathways.
This is not just an event; it’s a pivotal platform where industry leaders, standards-setting organizations, and other stakeholders will converge to shape the trajectory of semiconductor standards and drive innovation. The CHIPS R&D Standards Summit will be a unique and timely opportunity for all to observe, actively participate, collaborate, and influence the direction of standards development pathways within the semiconductor and microelectronics industry.
As we usher in a new era of semiconductor innovation, we invite you to participate in this transformative event. The CHIPS R&D Standards Summit is not just an opportunity to observe; it’s a platform to actively participate, collaborate, and influence the direction of standards development pathways within the semiconductor and microelectronics industry.
Whether participants choose to attend the event in person in Washington, D.C., or join virtually, their insights and contributions are integral. International attendees are also encouraged to attend, as fostering global collaboration and enriching the discussions on advancing semiconductor standards and innovation is paramount to success. We look forward to welcoming you to the summit on September 26 and 27, where together, we will set the standard for a future that’s innovative, collaborative, and marked by excellence.
