Piscataway, NJ 21 December 2010 – IEEE-ISTO announced today the election of a new Chairman of its Board of Directors. During a meeting held last week, Don Wright, a sitting IEEE-ISTO Director and Director of Standards for Lexmark International, was elected to assume the role of Chairman of IEEE-ISTO. Chairman Wright succeeds Gerald T. Lane, Director, Open Source and Standards Project Office for IBM, who has served as IEEE-ISTO Chairman since 2003 and has elected to step down at this time.
“I am delighted IEEE-ISTO has transformed from a fledgling organization to a robust industry partner. Since its inception, 36 programs have organized under the IEEE-ISTO Federation of Programs with participants from over 2500 companies,” reflected Gerald T. Lane. “I plan to remain as a Director and support our new Chairman in his efforts to further expand the reach of the organization.”
“Over the past seven years, Gerry’s leadership has successfully navigated IEEE-ISTO through a period of steady growth and continued success,” says Marco W. Migliaro, IEEE-ISTO President and CEO. “IEEE-ISTO appreciates all he has done for the organization and look forward to continued success under Don’s leadership.”
